The Maui calendar is starting to look stacked. It is beginning to look particularly stacked in the visitor-heavy month of June, with festivals, parades, music, and more.
From iconic comedians to film festivals to wine and food, here are our picks for the best events and festivals coming to Maui in June 2023.
Ali Wong: Live
Ali Wong is one of the most successful Asian-American comedians of all time. When you sell out The Wiltern in Los Angeles for 13 nights and appear in multiple Netflix specials, it is safe to say you are big-time. This big-time comedian will grace the stage at Maui’s Castle Theater in Kahului in June.
When: Monday, June 19th and Tuesday, June 20th; 7 PM - 9 PM

7th Annual World Whale Film Festival
June 8th is World Ocean Day, meaning the island of Maui will be hosting the World Whale Film Festival in Kula to celebrate. The festival will serve dinner and drinks while showcasing both moving and educational films about some of Hawaii’s most incredible creatures and their habitat. The festival is possible to attend either in-person or remotely.
When: Thursday, June 8th

42nd Annual Kapalua Wine & Food Festival
An enjoyable and luxurious event, this multi-day, the multi-location festival has been transporting visitors to a dream world of world-class wine and world-famous scenic locations for 42 years and counting. It is the longest-running food and wine event in the United States. If oceanfront wine tastings with paired dinners appeal, don’t miss it.
When: June 8th - June 11th

Na Kamehameha Commemorative Pau Parade & Hoolaulea
This celebration will begin in Maui’s extraordinary Banyan Tree Park in Lahaina. It will run practically all day, from 9 in the morning until 5 in the evening, and it will include music, hula, local craft/art exhibits, and kids' activities. As for the Pau Parade, that will start at 9:45 AM and will be visible along Front St in Lahaina.
When: Saturday, June 17th

Maui Film Festival
For the 23rd year, this top-tier film festival will court celebrities and showcase rising talent under the starry glow of the Maui night sky. Self-described as a “jewel box” festival, the event consists of five nights of showings on the massive digital Videowall in the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s new outdoor cinema.
When: Starting June 28th
